I began painting in 2005, mostly self-taught. My artistic training is largely based in observation that is materialized in an expressionistic manner. I approach a canvas as a challenge to my problem solving skills. Not claiming a particular style, I consider myself an explorer seeking new territory and self discovery on a very personal journey.
I am attracted to the beauty of abandoned and dilapidated urban architecture, as they create interesting landscapes. Within multiple layers I add random narrative, making conversation with texture, shape, and technique while plowing or quietly stepping through color fields to reveal their own conclusions. I enjoy the discovery process when expression is in an illusive state. I move from minimalism to graphic abstractions or linger in raw process.
